Logar valley

Matkov kot
A unique natural landmark at 1480 meters above sea level. It is a crater-like snow cauldron, where in the spring the water falls into a thick snowfield filled with avalanches in a gentle waterfall and thus cuts a hole in the shape of a cupboard into the snow.
The quiet valley is named after the (pra) Matk farm on its slope. There are four mountain farms in Matk’s corner. There are more options for a culinary stop.
Potočka zijalka
Is an important cave site. It is located at 1700 meters above sea level, below Mount Olseva. It is 115 meters long and 40 meters wide. From here there are beautiful views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Logar Valley. Ice cave people are supposed to be staying in the cave, some 30,000 years ago. Human footprints and bones of a cave bear have been discovered in Potočka Zijalka.
Snow cave (ice cave)
One of the most magnificent mountain caves in the world, lying under the slope of Raduha at an altitude of 1500 m. Her beauty, cave milk, ice sculptures and dripstone decorations make her visit an unforgettable experience.
Velika planina
The largest alpine pasture mountain in Slovenia. Shepherds built several herdsmen’s settlements with over a hundred shepherds’ flats – huts and bytes of special design.
Smrekovec
A mountain range of volcanic origin, 15 km long, lies at the intersection of the Salek Valley, Upper Savinja Valley and Upper Mežica Valley. Specific and varied flora has been developed. Worth a visit!
Menina planina(1458 m)
You are invited to the peaceful world of pastures. Menina is a pre-alpine karst plateau. There are also karst caves and two lakes. Menina invites you to the fresh air, natural beauty and positive energy, as well in summer, to a good hospitality, which includes a rich culinary offer.
